connor's Birthday Party
plainfield, IL
august 19, 2006
introduction
Last week I attended a child's
birthday party in Plainfield that was held at the YMCA, and even though
the kids didn't seem to be too thrilled to see us, I think we all had a
really good time there. Just one week later I was informed about another
birthday party that was taking place in Plainfield, and since that's so
close to home I couldn't resist doing it. Plus, I really have a lot of
fun at kids' birthday parties (as long as I don't
break my toe).
now this is a party
There
were about 20-30 kids at the party, and most of them were very much fond
of Star Wars. Those that did like Star Wars definitely showed their
spirit and love for the great SW. Most of the kids had their own toy
lightsabers and were whacking each other with them. The parents supplied
all of the kids with these cheap Darth Vader masks, and all the kids
seemed very excited to be wearing them. The most fun part of the party
had to be when they attacked the piņata. And let me tell you, this was
no simple piņata that you find at a store. It wasn't a mule or any other
shape of an animal. It was a custom-built Millennium Falcon! It took all
the kids and about 100+ whacks at it to break it open, and when the
candy flew out of it the children swarmed all over it.
kudos to the parents!
I really want to say how great these parents are, by throwing such a
terrific birthday party for their son Connor. Not only was it themed on
Star Wars, but they were able to bring members of the Midwest Garrison
over in their costumes. If I had to guess, I would think this could
possibly be the best birthday party Connor would ever experience in his
life time. You could just tell by the look in his face, that he really
had a great time that day.
